Maintenance is designed to maintain vehicles in good condition. It is a preventive measure, conducted in a planned manner.
Maintenance is divided into the following stages:
– maintenance in the initial period of operation,
– maintenance in the main period of operation.
In the initial period of operation of the vehicle, the following types of maintenance are performed:
– performed by drivers
– maintenance -2500;
Maintenance during the main period of operation is divided into the following types of maintenance:
– daily maintenance (DM) - performed by the drivers;
– first maintenance (M-1);
– second maintenance (M-2);
– additional seasonal work performed once a year, in the fall (SSM).
Daily maintenance is aimed at general monitoring of the state of components and systems that ensure traffic safety, maintaining the proper appearance of the car and is performed by the driver.
The main purpose of the maintenance -2500 is to prevent the appearance of faults by performing preventive, adjusting and lubricating and cleaning work on the new car, since in the initial period there is an intensive burn-in of the structural elements of the cars.
The main purpose of the first, second and additional seasonal maintenance services is to identify and prevent malfunctions through the timely execution of control, diagnostic, mounting, adjusting and lubricating and cleaning work.

In the main period of operation, periodic maintenance is performed depending on the category of operating conditions. The frequency of maintenance, the list of work performed and the frequency of carrying is given in the service book and the manual for KAMAZ vehicles.
All types of maintenance have individual lists of operations, i.e. not a single operation M-1 is included in either M-2 or service station maintenance; in turn, operations of M-2 is not included in service station maintenance.
When carrying out maintenance, it is allowed to perform both individual types of Maintenance (M-1, M-2 or SSM), and several types of Maintenance at the same time (M-1 and M-2; M-2 and SSM; M-1 and SSM or M -1, M-2 and SSM).
In the course of maintenance, if necessary, an associated maintenance is performed, the list of which is indicated in the process maps developed by the Scientific and Technical Center of KAMAZPJSC and approved by the Chief Designer of KAMAZ PJSC. The total complexity of the associated repair should not exceed 20% of the total complexity of the corresponding type of maintenance.
Concomitant repair - part of the routine (scheduled preventive) repair of small labor intensity and can be performed together with the maintenance service. The list of related repairs includes replacement of small parts affecting the performance of work (for example, removing the hub for bearing lubrication (M-2) - the laboriousness of the replacement and the cost of the bearing are included in the concomitant repair or the lubricant does not pass through the grease fittings (M-1) - the replacement of grease fittings –the accompanying repair).
